All of ours waiting come to an end, Yes.CBSE has announced UGC - NET July  2016 results which was conducted on July 10th and August 28th 2016 respectively. Huge number of aspirants given their attempts to gain eligibility for Assist Professor through out India and to qualify for Junior Research Fellowship.

This time the announcement of results delayed few days as the last date for applying has extended. Finally today cbse declared results on its official website. Candidates who has given attempt in NET July - 2016 can check results now. Click here for results

If you are thinking about doing Ph.D in theoretical computer science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology or in physics among the best institutions among India - then JEST - 2017 is for you.

The Science & Engineering Research Board recognizes JEST as National Eligibility Test.  Fellows working in SERB programmes and qualified in NET are eligible to get enhanced fellowship. There are some participating institutions and each institution has its own eligibility criteria.

Eligibility :

Ph.D. Programme

Physics:

  • M.Sc. in Physics or M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech. in related disciplines.
  • M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Physics / Applied Mathematics / Optics and Photonics / Instrumentation / Electronics will also be considered at IIA.
  • B.E. or B.Tech. will also be considered at IISc, IMSc, ICTS-TIFR, IUCAA, JNCASR, NCRA-TIFR, TIFR-TCIS, RRI, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and SNBNCBS.
  • Talented final year B.Sc. and first year M.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Astronomy / Applied Mathematics students may also apply to be pre-selected for research scholarship at IUCAA.
  • MSc  in Physics, Engineering Physics or Applied Physics will also be considered at IPR. At TIFR, only B.Tech Eng. Phys. and M.Sc. Physics are eligible.
  • Candidates having an M Sc degree in Physics or M.E./ M.Tech in Applied Physics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA will be considered for a Ph D position in NISER.

Theoretical Computer Science/Neuroscience/Computational Biology:
  • M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. / M.C.A. in Computer Science and related disciplines, and should be interested in the mathematical aspects of computer science. Visit website of IMSc for further details. M.Sc (Physics/ Mathematics), B.E/ B.Tech/ M.C.A in Computer Science for Ph.D. in Neuroscience at NBRC. 
  • ​M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. ​/ MCA ​ in any engineering or science discipline, with good mathematical skills and strong interest in biological problems for Ph.D. in Computational Biology at IMSc. 
Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech - Ph.D Programme 
  • At HRI, IISER-Pune, ICTS-TIFR, SNBNCBS, NCRA-TIFR, and TIFR-TCIS candidates with a Bachelor's degree will also be considered for the integrated M.Sc., Ph.D. programme in Physics. 
  • At IMSc, graduates with Bachelor’s degree in science/ mathematics/ /statistics /computer science/information technology/Engineering will also be considered for admission in Physics and in Theoretical Computer Science, as part of an integrated Ph.D. programme. All candidates successful in the course work of this programme shall be awarded an M.Sc. degree.
  • At SNBNCBS, graduates with B.Sc. (Physics) / B.E. / B.Tech. degree will be considered for the integrated Post-B.Sc.-Ph.D. programme in subject areas mentioned above. 
  • At IIA, graduates with B.Sc. (Physics / Mathematics) / B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical / Instrumentation / Engineering Physics / Electronics and Communications / Computer Science and Engineering / Optics and Photonics will be considered.
  • At NBRC, B.Sc. (Physics/ Mathematics) & B.E./ B.Techi (Computer Science) will be considered for integrated M.Sc-Ph.D in Neuroscience.
  • Bachelor's degree with Physics as one of the main subjects or a BE/B. Tech in Engineering Physics , with a minimum of first class marks, will be considered for admission to NISER's Integrated M Sc Ph D programme
Integrated M.Tech - Ph.D. Programme at IIA
  • Graduates with M.Sc. (Physics / Applied Physics) / Post-B.Sc. (Hons) in Optics and Optoelectronics / Radio Physics and Electronics / B.E. / B.Tech. degree in subjects mentioned above will be considered. Visit IIA website for details.

Integrated Ph.D. Programme.

  • Graduates with Bachelor’s degree in Physics/Technology/Engineering will be considered for the Int. Ph.D. programme in Physics at IISER, Thiruvananthapuram.

About Fellowship:

Passionate of teaching and social service, then you must know about Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship. Which enables you to teach and do social work  for which you receive handsome salary.
The Fellowship Programme of Azim Premji Foundation aims to give a hands on, enriching experience of the school education system to people coming from diverse domains and professions.

It is a two year programme, in your first year you are exposed to teaching at government schools in the blocks of district.Deep immersion in education to kindle, develop and build incumbent’s perspectives.Participation in the activities of the District Institute (DI) where you are placed and to understand the various roles in the DI.

In your second year  you will spent in capacity building preparing for a suitable role that an incumbent might choose in the DI after the completion of the Fellowship Programme.

Stipend:

A monthly stipend of Rs. 28,800- per month (all inclusive) will be offered.

Eligibility:

  • 3 to 10 years of work experience.
  • A post-graduate or a professional degree in any discipline.
  • Proficiency in local languages (Hindi or Kannada or Tamil or Telugu)

The result declaration procedure of UGC - NET consists of four stages -

Step I: Firstly a candidate must get minimum marks to be obtained  for the award of JRF and eligibility for Assistant Professor. Minimum marks are different from one to other category. see the below picture

Step II: Among those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.

Step III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor only.

Step IV: A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III by using the given formula.

The same formula is applicable to OBC/SC/ST aspirants also

It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by UGC/CBSE is final and binding.

EXAMINATION FEE AND MODE OF PAYMENT

1. For Genereal category Rs 600/-
2. For OBC category Rs 300/-
3. For SC/ST/PWD category Rs 150/-

Payment modes

1. credit/debit cards - additional rocessing charges are applicable
2. e-challan (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC BANKS)

after filling the details, select mode of payment and finish the payment

The candidates are required to check the status of fee payment at CBSE website
(www.cbsenet.nic.in) and if the status is ‘OK’ the candidate will be able to take the
printout of Confirmation Page. In case, the fee payment status is not ‘OK’ the candidates
are advised as following:-

1. If the fee is paid through e-challan by depositing cash in above mentioned bank, the
candidate should contact immediately the concerned bank to update his/her fee status on the
website.


2. If the fee is paid through credit/debit card and status is not OK, it means the transaction is
cancelled and the amount will be refunded to concerned credit/debit card within a week. Such
candidates have to pay the fee once again.
